Richer Soul Podcast Brand makeover

Podcast host Rocky Lalvani has an amazing podcast, The Richer Soul—he interviews interesting people who talk about more than just money.

But his branding did not reflect what the Richer Soul podcast was about—living an abundant and purposeful life. I first added the tagline, Living a Life on Purpose. I then went on to convey a wealth of spirit through the use of combining nature, gold leaf, and elegant typography. Rocky is also working on a book based on the first nine episodes of his podcast. I created two book cover designs, one with him on the cover and the other just typographically; both are in alignment with his podcast branding.

Serial Entrepreneur Scott Palmari came to me with his start-up, My Natural Kitchen, a line of organic ready to serve products. My job was to make him stand out in the very busy takeaway section of supermarkets. The results? His products flew off the shelves and he managed to get placement in Whole Foods. Scott has since started a new venture, creating a plant-based personal chef company, My RX Kitchen.

Corina's Switchy Rebranding Concepts

Corina was a pioneer in the functional beverage category and wanted to update and refresh her current packaging. She was competing with Kombucha and other cider vinegar drinks that already had brand recognition.

She was switching to a can because people had issues with the sediment. Her target audience was educated and would need to be willing to pay the $3.99 a bottle price. The existing design did not tell the consumer what was in the packaging. The new design kept the existing logo, focused on what was actually in the can while creating some excitement and shelf appeal through the graphics.

Stonyfield yogurt wanted to evolve its YoKids brand by focusing on being organic. At the same time, the company began a licensing partnership with Dreamworks. I was tasked to give the brand a refresh, which included redesigning the logo and implementing new typography, while incorporating the DreamWorks licensing. The organic focus targeted the moms while the Dreamworks characters targeted the kids. It was very rewarding to watch moms and kids alike choose Stonyfield over other yogurt brands.

Stonyfield YoKids Brand Evolution

Stonyfield yogurt wanted to evolve its YoKids brand by focusing on being organic. At the same time, the company began a licensing partnership with Dreamworks. Dr. Sigal believes natural, nutrition-based health offers many advantages over today’s medications. The right nutrition helps the body re-build health from the inside out. Her focus is on a plant-based diet, exercise and stress management.

The two-week program included performances from musicians, artists, dancers and storytellers and featured much of the museum's collection. Yo Yo Ma himself performed at PEM for the event. And gave me a hug for my design.

Seagrams Beverages

Grolsch beer was big overseas but not well-known in the states. This campaign focused on the beer's Dutch heritage, using Dutch master paintings and pithy headlines.

The result? Grosch grew to become the #1 import in America. It also started getting product placement in movies.

Electric Insurance was testing new offerings, roadside assistance and lower rates, in five markets. These pieces were used for brand awareness, targeted towards both existing and potential customers.

This brochure was focused around the coverage. Coverage for wherever the road takes you. I used images from around the country that conveyed no matter where you were, Electric Insurance would be there.

The Deductible Fund, a Liberty Mutual automobile insurance program, was declining in overall sales. Those managing the fund needed a marketing campaign to motivate the internal sales force to promote the program with their customers. The Deductible Fund Sales Contest was born. The contest was kicked off with a teaser email followed by a series of posters that hung throughout the offices.

The results: Sales doubled over the previous year's mark with over one million dollars sold for the program.

Ocean Spray

I was part of the team who worked with Ocean Spray to launch the Craisin and all forms of the cranberry.

Success Stories featured brands that partnered with Ocean Spray to develop products, including Pepperidge Farm, Ken’s Steak House, and Breyer’s Ice Cream, which lead to millions of dollars in revenue for these brands.

Word quickly spread that the cranberry was a small fruit with a big opportunity, as other companies bought into the Craisin.
